It is liberating and it can be like a dream come true for many of us. Then again, being your own boss is also a lot of responsibility and often it is a struggle. When you’re a regular employee meeting deadlines and getting things done is something that you just do, because if you don’t you know you will be fired. When you have a home based business though, those rules are sometimes a bit relaxed. The old boss is gone and not standing over your shoulder saying things need to get done. Clients may not be pressuring you, but that doesn’t mean they are not noticing the lack of progress on your part. Being your own boss boils down to being responsible and meeting deadlines. This requires a good time management and being able to stay focused and on task. It’s too easy to let the independence of the situation take control. You may be so happy that you can do what you want that often that you forget about the work part of working at home. This is where problems come about. Keeping a good schedule and sticking to it can prevent problems with too much independence.
